Dr Eugene Yeo is a General and Colorectal Surgeon who has a special interest in Robotic and Laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer with more than 18 years of experience. He obtained his medical degree as well as completed his surgical training in Singapore, and previously worked at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as a Consultant Surgeon in the Department of Colorectal Surgery. He is also well known both locally and regionally for his expertise in Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Conditions that Dr Yeo treats include General Surgical conditions like hernias, gallstones and appendicitis, and Colorectal conditions such as Colorectal polyps, Colorectal cancer, Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colititis, Haemorrhoids, Perianal fistulae and abscesses among others.
Dr Yeo spent 1 year on a fellowship to Yonsei Severence Hospital in Seoul, South Korea – the world’s highest volume robotic surgery centre with experience of more than 30,000 robotic cases. Dr Yeo is one of Singapore’s highest volume robotic colorectal surgeons, and is one of the few local surgeons recognized and listed on the Da Vinci® (Robotic surgery) surgeon locator website.
He is a founding and board member of the Robotic Surgical Society of Singapore(RS3), and is regularly invited to moderate, speak as well as perform live surgery at local and international conferences. Furthermore, his interest in surgical education has led him to serve in the role of Director of the Endoscopic Platform in the SingHealth Surgical Skills centre in SGH as well as being a regular faculty in the endoscopic and advanced laparoscopic courses held within the institution.
Besides his clinical work, Dr Yeo serves as a director of the endoscopic platform in the SingHealth surgical skills centre at SGH. He is also a regular faculty in the endoscopic and advanced laparoscopic courses held within the institution.
Dr Yeo has authored many book chapters, journal articles as well as multiple video articles over the years. He is a recipient of the Long Service Award and Service with a Heart Awards at SingHealth.
